Communications

One of your main concerns when you're living away from home is how to be able to communicate with your family and friends… Here we offer you a few pointers about how to do this once you're here in Spain.

By phone

If you want to make a call from Spain to another country, you must first dial 00, followed by the country code and the telephone number.

If you want to call inside Spain, just dial the number without any type of prefix.

By letter or by fax

The best idea is to go to a branch of the Post Office where they will do everything for you. If you prefer to post your letter yourself, all you have to do is buy a stamp in a tobacconists (estanco) and post your letter in any of the official post-boxes (there are many in the street, at stations, at airports...)

You can check the location of post offices at the Post Office website.

By Internet

If you don't have an Internet subscription in your lodgings, you can always use the facilities in public Internet rooms or cyber cafés. You'll also find WiFi Internet connections in many universities, libraries, railway stations and bus depots, as well as in shopping centres, hotels, public areas...
